Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care during on-call coverage
• Respond quickly and professionally to admissions, emergencies, and consults
• Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Perform patient assessments, document findings, and implement appropriate interventions
• Support patient and family education with clear, empathetic communication
• Prioritize and manage workload during high-acuity periods to maintain patient safety
• Escalate concerns promptly and participate in handoffs to ensure seamless transitions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Acute care experience preferred; 1+ year hospital experience is a plus
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills
• Ability to work independently during on-call shifts and escalate when needed
• W2 or Corp-to-Corp (CTC) engagement accepted based on candidate preference

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient assessment and clinical decision making
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation
• Familiarity with common acute-care procedures and protocols
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and manage multiple simultaneous tasks
• Collaborative team player who stays calm under pressure
