Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality physical therapy evaluations and create individualized treatment plans for residents
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, and independence
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care and optimize outcomes
- Document therapy sessions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate goals and progress clearly with residents, families, and facility staff
- Adapt treatment plans to meet changing clinical needs and ensure resident safety
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license in Mississippi or eligibility to obtain state licensure
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification preferred
- Prior experience working in skilled nursing or long-term care settings preferred
- Strong communication skills and a resident-centered approach
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Master’s in Physical Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, manual therapy, and balance/falls prevention
- Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic medical records
- Ability to assess functional mobility and design measurable goals
- Knowledge of safety protocols for patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Comfort collaborating with nursing and rehab teams in a fast-paced environment
