Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document vital signs and resident observations accurately and promptly
- Support mobility and safe transfer techniques while encouraging resident independence
- Communicate clearly with nurses, families, and interdisciplinary team members about resident needs
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and facility policies
- Contribute to a positive team culture by bringing energy, reliability, and professionalism
Qualifications
- Valid GNA or equivalent certification as required by Maryland
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB test per facility policy
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Comfortable with physical aspects of the role including lifting and transfers
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Previous long-term care or assisted living experience a plus but not required
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and ADL assistance
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Infection control practices and proper PPE use
- Effective communication with residents and care team
- Time management and dependable attendance
