Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, supporting activities of daily living with dignity and respect
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in condition accurately and promptly
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning to promote safety and comfort
• Support nursing staff by communicating changes, following care plans, and documenting care in a timely manner
• Maintain infection control practices and a safe, clean environment for residents
• Collaborate with the care team to deliver consistent, high-quality care and a positive resident experience

Qualifications

• Active GNA/GNA-L or CNA certification in Maryland (required)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
• Previous long-term care or nursing assistant experience preferred but new grads encouraged to apply
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA/CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting)
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Familiar with basic infection control and safety procedures
• Good documentation and time-management skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with electronic charting is a plus
