Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care and support
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor and document vital signs, behavior changes, and care activities accurately
- Communicate observations and care updates clearly to nursing staff and the care team
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently
- Support a positive resident experience by promoting dignity and respect
Qualifications
- GNA certification (or equivalent Nursing Assistant certification) required by the state of Maryland
- Current CPR/BLS certification required
- Preferred: 1+ year experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively on a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with transfers, lifts, and mobility support
- Knowledge of basic infection prevention and PPE usage
- Familiarity with documenting care in electronic or paper records
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
- Empathy, patience, and strong communication with residents and families
