Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients thoroughly and develop individualized treatment plans that get results
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions including gait training, balance and mobility work
- Provide meaningful manual therapy and therapeutic exercise to restore function
- Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Educate patients and caregivers on home programs to maximize recovery and independence
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered atmosphere that supports rehabilitation goals
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist license required
- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy (DPT or MPT)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Previous experience in inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication, and teamwork skills
Education
- DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) or MPT (Master of Physical Therapy)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in patient assessment and developing functional treatment plans
- Experience with therapeutic modalities, transfers, gait training, and assistive devices
- Comfortable with rehab documentation and EMR systems
- Ability to prioritize caseload and manage time efficiently
- Compassionate patient education and family communication
