Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on patient care in a busy Emergency Department
• Assist nurses and providers with assessments and urgent interventions
• Monitor patients, report changes promptly, and document care accurately
• Support safe patient transfers, admissions and discharges with attention to detail
• Maintain a calm, professional presence during critical cardiac and trauma situations
• Collaborate with the care team to prioritize patient safety and comfort
• Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and department protocols

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Oregon CNA certification (required)
• Healthcare provider level BLS certification (required upon hire)
• Comfort working with patients across the acuity spectrum, from non-critical to emergent
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Previous ED or acute care experience preferred but enthusiastic new ED CNAs are welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Oregon CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Fundamentals of patient care, vital signs, and basic clinical procedures
• Understanding of emergency medical conditions and triage basics
• Familiarity with critical cardiac care and trauma support workflows
• Ability to follow protocols under pressure and prioritize patient needs
• Teamwork, clear communication, and attention to accurate documentation
