Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care for antepartum, labor, postpartum and nursery patients
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using intermediate fetal monitoring and respond to changes promptly
• Perform clinical assessments, administer medications, and follow established protocols for labor management
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and nursery staff to ensure safe deliveries and optimal newborn care
• Serve as an OB circulator when needed to support safe, efficient procedures (preferred skill)
• Document care clearly and thoroughly to support continuity and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas (required)
• Current BLS and NRP certifications (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• STABLE training or equivalent neonatal stabilization experience (required)
• Intermediate fetal monitoring competency (required)
• Experience caring for antepartum, labor, postpartum and nursery patients (preferred)
• OB circulator experience (preferred)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in maternal/fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Strong clinical assessment and triage abilities
• Comfortable with labor support, delivery assistance, and newborn care
• Good communication and teamwork in fast-paced situations
• Familiarity with rural hospital workflows and resourceful clinical decision-making
