Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care for antepartum, labor, postpartum and nursery patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using intermediate fetal monitoring and respond to changes promptly
- Perform clinical assessments, administer medications, and follow established protocols for labor management
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and nursery staff to ensure safe deliveries and optimal newborn care
- Serve as an OB circulator when needed to support safe, efficient procedures (preferred skill)
- Document care clearly and thoroughly to support continuity and quality improvement
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (required)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications (required)
- ACLS certification (required)
- STABLE training or equivalent neonatal stabilization experience (required)
- Intermediate fetal monitoring competency (required)
- Experience caring for antepartum, labor, postpartum and nursery patients (preferred)
- OB circulator experience (preferred)
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in maternal/fetal monitoring and interpretation
- Strong clinical assessment and triage abilities
- Comfortable with labor support, delivery assistance, and newborn care
- Good communication and teamwork in fast-paced situations
- Familiarity with rural hospital workflows and resourceful clinical decision-making
