Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic
- Perform CLIA waived testing and accurate point-of-care procedures
- Administer pediatric vaccines safely and document immunizations per clinic policy
- Perform blood draws and basic phlebotomy with attention to pediatric comfort and technique
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and families in English and Spanish
- Accurately document assessments, interventions and patient education in the EMR
- Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to coordinate efficient, high-quality care
- Maintain infection control practices and comply with clinic policies including mandatory flu vaccination
Qualifications
- Active RN license to practice in Colorado (required)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required)
- Minimum 5 years pediatric clinic/ambulatory experience (required)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Experience with CLIA waived testing, pediatric vaccines, and blood draws
- Current proof of flu vaccination (no exemptions accepted)
- Comfort working in an outpatient/ambulatory pediatric clinic setting
Education
- Active RN license; ADN or BSN required, BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong pediatric assessment and triage skills
- Knowledge of pediatric growth, development and immunization schedules
- Proficient with CLIA waived testing protocols and point-of-care testing
- Phlebotomy skills for pediatric patients
- Clear, culturally sensitive communication with children and families
- Efficient EMR documentation and workflow in an outpatient environment
- Team-oriented approach and ability to multitask in a busy clinic
