Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate Siemens CT scanners safely and effectively to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Use EPIC and Merge PACS systems to document studies, manage images, and communicate results
- Deliver compassionate patient care: prepare patients, explain procedures, and ensure comfort and safety
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and quality assurance procedures at all times
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and clinical staff to support smooth department workflow
- Participate in the on-call rotation (averages one week every fourth week) and respond when needed
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in EPIC and PACS
Qualifications
- ARRT certification in Radiography or CT and/or state licensure as required by Illinois (preferred/required based on facility policy)
- Prior CT technologist experience — familiarity with Siemens CT scanners highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with EPIC and Merge PACS systems (listed as core requirements)
- Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong patient care skills, clear communication, and teamwork mindset
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and adapt to schedule changes
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field (or equivalent experience and certification)
- ARRT certification and state licensure as required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record workflows
- Experience using Merge PACS for image handling and archiving
- Technical knowledge of Siemens CT scanner operation and troubleshooting
- DICOM imaging standards and image quality optimization
- Radiation safety principles and infection control practices
- Excellent patient positioning and screening skills
