Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care that improves outcomes and makes patients feel heard
- Perform thorough assessments, monitor status changes, and escalate concerns promptly
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and in accordance with policy
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure smooth transitions and excellent continuity
- Document care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
- Support patients and families with education, discharge planning, and emotional reassurance
- Participate in quality improvement efforts to help the unit perform at its best
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications a plus
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred (new grads with strong clinical rotations considered)
- Comfortable with varied shift start times and participating in on-call rotation
- Strong communication skills, teamwork mindset, and the ability to prioritize in a busy setting
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy competency
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
- Ability to triage, escalate, and collaborate effectively with providers
- Comfort working in a dynamic environment with changing patient needs
