Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform skilled occupational therapy evaluations for acute-care patients, identifying function, safety risks, and goals
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote patient independence and safe discharge
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — nurses, PT, SLP, physicians — to coordinate holistic care
- Document assessments, progress, and discharge plans in a timely, accurate manner
- Provide patient and family education to support home readiness and ongoing recovery
- Adapt interventions for a range of diagnoses and acuity levels while maintaining safety and quality
Qualifications
- Current North Dakota Occupational Therapy license (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS, MS, or entry-level OTD) and active clinical licensure
- Willingness to float between acute and rehab settings
- Open to any level of experience — new grads and seasoned clinicians welcome
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (BS/BA, MS, or OTD) — occupational therapy licensure required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills in acute care
- Experience with ADL training, adaptive equipment, and discharge planning
- Comfortable documenting in electronic medical records and following hospital policies
- Team-oriented communication and an ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to manage a full caseload while prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
