Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings clearly
• Administer medications safely and pass the required medication competency test
• Operate and monitor medical equipment and diagnostic tests accurately
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and the Nurse Manager effectively
• Provide direct and indirect care in the med-surg setting with compassion and professionalism
• Assist with patient rehabilitation and follow-up to support recovery
• Collaborate with the care team and cross-train in other nursing departments as needed

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• BLS certificate (required)
• Minimum two (2) years recent Acute/Med-Surg experience preferred
• Must pass nursing medication test prior to or during orientation
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills
• Professional interpersonal skills and ability to interact respectfully with patients, families and staff
• Basic computer skills and comfort with Electronic Medical Records (preferred)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Nursing care principles and best practices
• Patient assessment and clinical documentation
• Medication management and safe administration
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records
• Good clinical judgment and ability to respond quickly to changes
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
