Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based Med/Surg nursing care for post-operative and surgical patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered plans of care
• Document care clearly in the electronic health record and communicate handoffs effectively
• Assist with procedures and support patients and families through surgical recovery
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current RN license in North Dakota or valid compact RN licensure
• BLS certification required to start
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
• Prior travel nurse experience preferred and required per posting
• Ability to work a 4x12 alternating schedule and float as needed
• Clean clinical background and good teamwork / communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• IV medication administration and infusion pump knowledge
• Post-operative nursing care including wound and drain management
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and thorough documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and respond to changing patient needs
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
