Candidate Pay Rate: Competitive pay based on experience (market-rate travel RN pay)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for MedSurg and Neuro patients including stroke and post-op neurosurgery cases
- Manage admissions, discharges and multiple patient transitions efficiently during busy shifts
- Administer medications safely, including titratable drips such as heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine when indicated
- Monitor and manage PCA pumps and collaborate with the team on pain management
- Practice hourly rounding and rapid responsiveness to patient needs to improve outcomes and satisfaction
- Work collaboratively with CNAs, Tele/Monitor Techs and Charge Nurses to maintain safe nurse:patient ratios
- Document assessments, interventions and care plans clearly and timely in the medical record
- Support a culturally competent environment and communicate effectively with patients and families from diverse backgrounds
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nebraska (or compact RN license as applicable)
- BLS required
- NIHSS certification required
- Valid driver’s license at submittal (used to confirm radius rule)
- No license or background hits — clean record required
- Preferred: prior travel nursing experience or strong MedSurg/Telemetry experience
- Comfort with telemetry awareness and interpreting basics; Tele techs provide primary interpretations
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills in medical-surgical and neurological populations
- Effective communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Teamwork and adaptability during high-admission/discharge days
- Telemetry awareness and ability to act on cardiac/monitor changes
- Medication administration and IV/drip titration competence
- Good clinical judgment, prioritization and time management
- Compassionate, culturally sensitive care (experience with Spanish, Karen, Burmese patients is a plus)
