Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist and monitor patients undergoing CT and MRI cardiac procedures with focus and compassion
- Provide procedural sedation administration and monitoring using best-practice safety protocols
- Perform IV therapy including starting and maintaining IVs, PICC and implanted port care
- Support pacemaker programming and pacemaker interrogation in the MRI environment
- Monitor contrast allergy risks and administer emergency medications when indicated
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC (required)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV teams, Radiology, Pharmacy, PT, Respiratory Services) to deliver seamless care
- Contribute to infection prevention and isolation precaution practices to keep patients safe
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Washington or active compact license accepted
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience (interventional radiology, cath lab, or IR experience helpful)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required)
- Comfortable and experienced with procedural sedation monitoring
- Proven experience with IV therapy, PICC/port care, and use of IV infusion pumps
- Familiarity with EPIC documentation (required)
- Ability to work day 4x10 schedule; flexibility for 3x12s is a plus
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- EPIC electronic charting and documentation
- IV therapy, starting and maintaining IVs, PICC and implanted port care
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
- Medications: antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, reversal agents, thrombolytics
- Pacemaker programming/interrogation in MRI environments
- Infection prevention and isolation precautions
- Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Strong interdisciplinary communication and patient advocacy
