Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients, managing complex interventions and ventilated patients
- Continuously monitor and interpret ECG rhythms and hemodynamic data, responding swiftly to changes
- Administer and titrate vasoactive medications and manage advanced devices (IABP, VAD, pacemakers) under unit protocols
- Provide ventilator management and care for patients on ECMO and CRRT when indicated
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, radiology and rapid response teams
- Document patient care accurately and timely in Epic to ensure seamless communication and continuity
- Support and mentor colleagues during high-acuity events and participate in unit emergency response
- Float to other units or facilities as needed while maintaining professional, patient-first care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Oregon, pending licenses considered (PEND LIC OK); first-time travelers welcome
- Current ACLS and BLS required
- CCRN preferred; NIHSS preferred
- Minimum ~2 years ICU/critical care experience preferred (screen strong candidates with 1+ year)
- Demonstrated ventilator management and experience with advanced cardiac monitoring
- Comfortable using Epic for charting (required)
- Must have reliable vehicle for assignment and travel between nearby facilities
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, and proning experience
- Pulmonary artery line (Swan-Ganz) monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
- Experience with ECMO and CRRT (or exposure to these modalities)
- Familiarity with short-term acute care workflows and rapid response protocols
- Strong communication, triage, and emergency response skills
