Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, critical care to adults and geriatric patients in the cardiac cath and interventional radiology settings
• Perform and assist with cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology procedures using best practices and safety protocols
• Monitor patients closely during sedation and invasive procedures, managing hemodynamics, arrhythmias and emergency medications as needed
• Chart thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity of care and clear communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV teams, RT, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response) to optimize patient outcomes
• Manage vascular access, blood product administration and IV therapies, and safely remove sheaths with appropriate monitoring
• Adhere to infection prevention, isolation precautions and facility protocols
• Float within the department (may work EP or IR) to meet facility needs and maintain flexible coverage
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to call assignments per contract requirements

Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required to receive Auto Offer (pending license accepted for consideration)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (must be current)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (critical care, cath lab, or interventional radiology preferred)
• Comfortable working 4x10 day shifts and meeting the on-call/weekend requirements
• Experience with Epic charting strongly preferred
• Able to perform procedural monitoring, sedation, and manage emergency medications and vasopressors
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)
• Active RN license in Alaska required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing and cardiac cath lab procedures
• Interventional radiology procedures and monitoring
• Epic electronic charting system
• Activated Clotting Time (ACT) monitoring
• End-tidal CO2 monitoring and procedural sedation monitoring
• Sheath removal and topical hemostasis techniques
• Ventilator management and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Use of special equipment such as Impella, IABP, balloon pump, rotablator and laser
• IV therapy, blood product administration and starting/maintaining IVs
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions
