Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Day shifts
Hours per Week: 40 hrs per week (4x10 schedule). Guaranteed 70 hours per 2 weeks (approximately 35 hrs/week minimum, may be called off 1x 10-hr shift per 2 weeks)
Candidate Pay Rate: Competitive travel RN pay (market-based; exact rate depends on experience and tax option: W2 or C2C)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, patient-centered care in the cardiac catheterization lab during diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Continuously assess and monitor hemodynamics, dysrhythmias, and procedural sedation using event-driven clinical judgment
- Assist physicians and the interdisciplinary team with complex cardiac procedures including PCI, stent placements, left/right heart caths and device management
- Manage vascular access, sheath removal, topical hemostasis and blood product administration with strict attention to safety
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain continuity of care and clinical quality
- Respond to emergencies and support Rapid Response/trauma workflows in a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated environment
- Float to EP or IR as needed within scope to support patient care and unit staffing
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Alaska required for auto-offer (pending license accepted but must have license in hand for auto-offer)
- Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum ~2 years of critical care or cath lab nursing experience preferred (first-timers accepted)
- Comfortable with on-call duty and 4th/5th weekend rotation
- Ability to float to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) within scope
- Ability to pass facility orientation (approx. 40 hours) and work in a fast-paced acute hospital setting
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
- Completion of required facility orientation and any unit-specific competencies
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac catheterization lab procedures (PCI, stent placement, left/right heart cath)
- Activated Clotting Time (ACT) monitoring and topical hemostasis techniques
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of antiarrhythmics
- Procedural sedation monitoring and End-Tidal CO2 surveillance
- Ventilator basics and post-procedure ventilator management
- Sheath removal, vascular access care (PICC/non-tunneled central lines), and IV/infusion pump management
- Familiarity with Epic charting and working in a Magnet-designated facility
- Experience with advanced cath lab equipment (Impella, IABP, rotablator, shockwave, laser)
