Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support safe transfers, mobility and positioning to keep residents comfortable and mobile
- Monitor residents' condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and timely in the facility charting system
- Follow infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver individualized care plans
- Engage residents with dignity and respect, promoting independence and quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant certification (required)
- Active CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM night shift
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but new grads welcome
Education
- High School Diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient care skills and comfort assisting with ADLs
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic charting and documentation ability
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safety practices
- Time management in a fast-paced care setting
- Compassionate bedside manner and resident-focused approach
