Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients on your unit
- Assess patient conditions and communicate changes clearly to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting each step
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to create effective care plans
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Maintain accurate, timely patient records and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Prior Med/Surg experience preferred (1+ year a plus)
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices and protocols
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation standards
- Ability to triage, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with medication administration, IV therapy, and patient assessments
