Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervising PT
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, modalities, and functional mobility training
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the treating PT to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, safety, and adaptive strategies
- Collaborate with the rehab team to create meaningful, patient-centered care plans
- Maintain equipment and treatment areas to ensure a safe, efficient clinic
Qualifications
- Current, active PTA license in Maryland (required)
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required or obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable working in an outpatient clinic setting with a variety of patient ages and diagnoses
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Background check and any facility-specific immunizations or screenings as required
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise progression and gait training
- Familiarity with common outpatient modalities and assistive devices
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
- Ability to motivate patients and tailor interventions to individual goals
- Time management and multitasking skills to manage a full caseload
