Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate GE MRI equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images
- Prepare patients for MRI exams, explaining procedures and ensuring safety and comfort
- Perform MRI protocols and adjust parameters for optimal image quality
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure accurate imaging and timely results
- Adhere to MRI safety standards and maintain a safe imaging environment
- Document procedures, maintain patient records, and manage imaging workflows
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI experience (required)
- ARRT (MRI) certification or equivalent credential preferred
- State licensure as required for MRI technologists in Virginia
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong patient care skills and the ability to work with diverse populations
- Comfortable working with GE MRI systems
Education
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology, MRI Technology, or related field preferred
- Or completion of an accredited MRI technologist program
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with GE MRI scanners and common pulse sequences
- Solid understanding of MR safety, screening, and contraindications
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and basic imaging informatics
- Good communication skills for interacting with patients and clinical teams
- Ability to prioritize workflows and manage multiple scheduled exams
