Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist with general ledger activities to keep our financial records accurate and audit-ready
- Perform month-end close tasks so the team can deliver timely, reliable financial results
- Prepare and review month-end account reconciliations to ensure balances are correct
- Support daily accounting operations and respond to ad hoc requests from leadership
- Work on special projects as directed by the CFO, Controller, and Assistant Controller
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes and controls
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support the hospital’s mission, vision and values
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
- Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accrual accounting
- Experience with general ledger activities, month-end close, and account reconciliations
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and meeting month-end deadlines
- Experience in healthcare finance preferred
- Proficient with personal computers and common office software; Excel skills are expected
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision (exempt role)
- Must meet health requirements and provide documentation: Hep B, MMR, Varicella titers; Tdap, Flu, COVID-19 vaccination records; Quantiferon Gold TB screening (chest x-ray if indicated)
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Knowledge & Skills
- General ledger accounting and accruals
- Month-end close procedures and reconciliations
- Account analysis and variance investigation
- GAAP compliance and accounting controls
- Comfort with Microsoft Excel and standard office systems
- Strong attention to detail, deadlines orientation, and problem-solving
- Clear written and verbal communication for cross-department collaboration
