Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a busy med/surg unit
• Assess, monitor and document patient condition using evidence-based practices
• Administer medications, IV therapies and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge plans
• Advocate for patient needs and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
• Respond to acute changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of med/surg nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Immunizations and health screening per facility policy
• Willingness to work collaboratively and a positive, patient-focused attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR); Epic experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Basic familiarity with hospital safety and infection control practices
