Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, making their day safer and brighter
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers) with dignity and respect
- Perform timely vital signs monitoring and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Document resident care accurately in the chart/EHR and communicate handoffs clearly
- Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts through safe transfer techniques
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Adhere to infection control protocols and facility policies to keep residents and staff safe
- Commit to reliable weekend coverage as part of the team’s continuity of care
Qualifications
- Active LNA certification (Licensed Nursing Assistant) valid in Vermont
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain promptly
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred but dedicated new grads welcome
- Ability to work the assigned PM shift (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM) and every weekend
- Must have reliable transportation and provide own housing (local-only requirement)
- Clean background check and drug screen as required by facility
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved LNA program and current state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong resident-centered care and bedside manner
- Proficiency with basic nursing tasks: vitals, ADLs, transfers
- Good documentation skills and comfort with basic EHR/charting
- Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced settings
- Awareness of infection control best practices and safety protocols
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
