Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized physical therapy interventions for patients with brain injury and stroke to maximize functional recovery
• Perform thorough assessments, create goal-driven treatment plans, and adjust interventions based on patient progress
• Provide skilled therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance and mobility retraining, and neurorehabilitation techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, recreational therapy, and outpatient services to coordinate care
• Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge planning accurately and in a timely manner
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety strategies, and adaptive equipment to support long-term outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement and CARF-related activities to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Maine or eligible for Maine licensure
• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent professional PT degree
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willing to obtain
• Experience with brain injury and stroke rehabilitation preferred
• Strong interpersonal and documentation skills, comfortable working in an interdisciplinary setting
• Ability to work a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule

• DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy)

• Neurorehabilitation principles and interventions for brain injury and stroke
• Gait training, balance retraining, therapeutic exercise prescription
• Skilled assessment techniques and functional outcome measurement
• Electronic medical record documentation and compliance
• Patient- and family-centered education and communication
• Team collaboration and clinical problem solving
