Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and lift protocols
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and resident status
• Follow infection control, safety, and state immunization requirements including flu shot
• Collaborate with nurses and team members to deliver person-centered care and a positive resident experience

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in New Jersey
• T-CNA credential if applicable to facility requirements
• Ability to work the assigned day shift schedule including every other weekend
• Current basic life support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Clean background check and ability to meet facility onboarding requirements
• State-required flu immunization prior to start or documented exemption per policy

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and comfortable assisting with ADLs
• Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate care
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding, bathing, toileting, and transfers
• Familiarity with resident-centered documentation and charting
• Knowledge of infection control practices and PPE use
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from licensed nursing staff
