Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, accurate external beam radiation treatments for adult and geriatric oncology patients using Elekta systems
- Operate and verify image-guided treatments with CBCT/kV/mV imaging and ExacTrac when indicated
- Perform CT simulation, pretreatment checks, and tumor localization to ensure precise treatment delivery
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, and nursing to optimize patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about treatment procedures, safety precautions, and at-home care
- Maintain radiation safety practices and assist with field shaping, custom molds/shields, and treatment setup
- Document care accurately in Epic and participate in chart checks and quality assurance workflows
- Respond appropriately with rapid response/code teams when required and support emergency procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Radiation Therapist (1YR/1ST TIMERS OK)
- ARRT (R) certification preferred
- Current state Radiation Therapist license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with Elekta, Mosaiq, and ExacTrac preferred but not required
- Comfortable floating between units and working on multiple linear accelerators
- Familiarity with CT Simulation, CBCT imaging, IMRT, SBRT, and external beam techniques
Knowledge & Skills
- Radiation therapy and radiation safety best practices
- Elekta Infinity and Versa HD operation
- Mosaiq charting and workflow
- ExacTrac image guidance and respiratory gating
- CT simulation and pretreatment procedures
- CBCT/kV/mV imaging and tumor localization
- Dosimetry basics, beam modifying/positioning, and field shaping
- Patient/family teaching, isolation precautions, and emergency response
