Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital
- Assess patient conditions, develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans
- Document care clearly and timely in the medical record
- Respond calmly and effectively to changes in patient status and emergencies
- Serve as an advocate for patients and contribute to a positive care environment
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact RN license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred or available on hire
- Previous acute care or hospital experience preferred (new grads welcome to apply depending on unit needs)
- Current immunizations and any required background checks/clearances
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical assessment and critical thinking to prioritize patient needs
- Medication administration and IV management
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment and adapt quickly
- Excellent patient and family education skills
