Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities with compassion and respect
- Provide safe, person-centered care including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and clear communication
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Document care in facility records in a timely and accurate way
Qualifications
- Current Maryland GNA certification (or active CNA certification accepted)
- Valid BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum: willingness to learn and provide compassionate care; prior long-term care experience preferred
- Able to pass background checks and required health screenings
- Reliable transportation and ability to work the scheduled shift
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe patient handling
- Good communication and teamwork in a nursing environment
- Familiarity with long-term care routines and resident-centered care
- Charting and documentation basics; attention to detail
- Ability to respond calmly in fast-paced or changing situations
