Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Perform safe transfers and mobility assistance, using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Take and record vital signs, monitor resident status, and promptly report changes to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and electronic records
• Support a clean, safe, and respectful environment that promotes resident dignity
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (or CNA equivalent) required; Maryland state certification or eligibility preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) current or ability to obtain prior to start
• Preferred: prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing (new grads welcome to apply)
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen, TB test, and required immunizations
• Dependable, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively with residents and team members

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required; GNA/CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and resident mobility support
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, observing resident condition, documenting care
• Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling practices
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable working with electronic or paper charting systems
