Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care to support daily living activities
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility safely and with respect
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes promptly
- Support mealtime and nutritional needs while encouraging dignity and independence
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate with the care team
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility protocols to keep residents safe
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification in Maryland or eligibility to obtain state GNA registration
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM schedule
- Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude
- Previous long-term care or nursing assistant experience preferred but new grads welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic nursing assistant clinical skills, including ADLs and safe patient handling
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safety protocols
- Good documentation and time management skills
- Teamwork, empathy, and strong resident-focused communication
