Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
• Assist with safe transfers, positioning, and mobility support to keep residents comfortable
• Monitor and report changes in condition—your observations help shape care plans
• Take and document vital signs and other routine clinical measures accurately
• Support meal service and ensure residents receive timely nutrition and hydration
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Document care in a timely and professional manner to maintain excellent resident records

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (or equivalent) valid in Maryland
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of direct care experience preferred (new grads welcome!)
• Up-to-date TB test and immunizations per facility policy
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in basic resident care: ADLs, bathing, grooming, feeding assistance
• Comfortable taking and recording vital signs accurately
• Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety
• Ability to follow care plans and report observations clearly
• Basic charting and documentation skills (paper or electronic)
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a nursing team
