Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents and patients
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics
- Observe and accurately document changes in condition and report to nursing staff
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Collaborate with nurses and team members to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (state-approved) required
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtain within facility timelines
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care helpful (1+ year preferred)
- Ability to pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- GNA / Nurse Aide certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of patient safety and basic clinical care
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
- Basic charting and documentation skills (electronic health record exposure is a plus)
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy environment
- Teamwork and reliable time management
