Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents in a long-term care setting
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Support mealtime and feeding assistance when needed, respecting dietary plans
• Maintain clean, safe environments and follow infection prevention protocols
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with colleagues and families
• Build positive relationships with residents to promote dignity and quality of life

Qualifications

• GNA certification required (or equivalent state nursing assistant certification)
• Current CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background and health screenings, including TB and immunizations
• Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred (1+ year helpful)
• Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts
• Friendly, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• GNA certification or state-approved nursing assistant credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing assistant skills: ADLs, vital signs, safe resident transfers
• Knowledge of infection control and proper PPE use
• Familiarity with documentation and charting best practices
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team
• Competence in resident safety, fall prevention, and skin integrity monitoring
