Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Support residents with bathing, dressing, mobility and mealtime assistance
- Monitor resident well-being and promptly report any changes to the nursing team
- Document care accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
- Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Partner with colleagues to deliver respectful, person-centered care every day
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification or state equivalent required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living is a plus
- Ability to pass background check, TB screening and any facility-required health checks
- Reliable transportation and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
- Basic understanding of infection prevention and safety practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
- Good time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Familiarity with charting and basic documentation (paper or electronic)
