Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes in condition
• Support safe transfers and ambulation while using proper body mechanics
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and any resident observations
• Communicate effectively with nurses, interdisciplinary team members, and families to ensure coordinated care
• Follow infection control policies and promote a clean, safe environment
• Demonstrate respect and preserve dignity for each resident, encouraging independence whenever possible

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or state equivalent required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Negative TB test and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Background check and drug screen clearance required
• Prior experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred but new graduates welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills with focus on dignity and respect
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Good communication and teamwork with clinical staff and families
• Ability to follow care plans and facility policies accurately
• Comfortable with documentation and charting processes
• Reliable, punctual, and able to handle a fast-paced care environment
