Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care while assisting residents with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, ambulation, and transfers safely and respectfully
- Take and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation in resident records
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents are comfortable and nourished
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team members
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- Current Maryland GNA certification or equivalent (required)
- Active CPR/BLS certification (or obtain upon hire)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work the scheduled day shift
- Previous long-term care or assisted living experience preferred but new grads welcome
Education
- High School Diploma or GED and Maryland GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care and activities of daily living
- Basic vital signs and observation skills
- Comfortable with safe transfer and mobility assistance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassion, patience, and the ability to build rapport with residents
- Familiarity with basic documentation and charting practices
