Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate daily care to residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents and promptly report any changes in condition to nursing staff
- Follow care plans and document care accurately and professionally
- Support mealtime needs and ensure safe feeding practices when required
- Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, safe, and positive environment
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required); CNA certification accepted if applicable
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and required health screenings
- Comfort working evenings and night shifts; reliable and punctual
- Strong communication skills and a patient, kind bedside manner
- Previous long-term care or assisted living experience a plus, but new grads welcome
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
- Safe resident handling and mobility assistance skills
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Ability to follow care plans and accept direction from licensed nurses
- Teamwork mindset and strong observational skills
