Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents including assistance with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes
- Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Document care and observations clearly in the patient record
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and family members to support continuity of care
- Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- Current Maryland GNA certification or equivalent required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or a similar setting is a plus but new grads are welcome
- Ability to pass background checks and required screenings
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED; completion of a GNA program or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and personal care techniques
- Vital signs measurement and documentation
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Basic charting and electronic or paper record keeping
- Team collaboration and time management
