Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document vital signs and resident status accurately and promptly
- Support mobility and fall-prevention efforts with attentive assistance
- Communicate clearly with nursing staff and families about resident needs
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
- Contribute to person-centered care plans and respect resident dignity at all times
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of ADLs, vital signs, and basic resident care
- Familiarity with infection control and safety practices
- Comfortable with documentation and electronic charting basics
- Good observational skills and the ability to escalate changes appropriately
- Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
