Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and document vital signs, behavior, and any changes in condition
- Assist with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
- Support mealtime assistance and ensure residents' nutritional needs are met
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Communicate observations clearly to the nursing team and participate in care planning
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification (required)
- Current CPR/BLS certification (required or obtain upon hire)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred
- Comfort with physical tasks such as lifting and assisting residents
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient-centered care and dignity-focused approach
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, feeding assistance, ADL support
- Infection control and safety procedures
- Accurate documentation and handoff communication
- Ability to work calmly in a busy care environment
