Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care with dignity and respect
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing staff
- Support resident mobility and fall prevention, using safe transfer techniques
- Follow care plans and document care clearly and timely
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to promote wellbeing
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current GNA or CNA certification as required by state regulation
- Active listing on the state nurse aide registry if applicable
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility policy
- Pass background check and drug screen
- Reliable transportation for per-diem shifts
- Previous experience in long term care or assisted living is a plus but enthusiastic learners are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- GNA or CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong person-centered care skills and compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to take vital signs and observe/report resident changes
- Basic documentation skills and comfort with facility records
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
