Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate direct patient care with dignity and respect
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
- Support a positive patient experience by communicating clearly and kindly
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
- Document care promptly and accurately in patient records
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to meet patient needs
Qualifications
- Valid GNA certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or required where applicable
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care settings is a plus but new grads are welcome
- Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, patient transfers
- Understanding of infection prevention and patient safety principles
- Compassionate patient interaction and strong bedside manner
- Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
- Ability to work independently during assigned shifts
