Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents, helping with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with mobility, transfers, bathing, dressing, and toileting while preserving dignity
- Take and record vital signs and report changes promptly to nursing staff
- Document care and observations accurately and timely
- Collaborate with the nursing team and families to support individualized care plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
- Offer friendly companionship and support to enhance residents' quality of life
Qualifications
- Current GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or CNA certification in Maryland (required)
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Previous experience in long-term care or assisted living helpful but not required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening as required
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of ADLs and basic resident care
- Basic vital signs measurement and reporting
- Infection control and safety awareness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
- Comfortable with documentation and following care plans; EHR experience a plus
