Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care to residents/patients with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) to promote comfort and independence
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe patient transfers and mobility using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention protocols
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff
Qualifications
- Active GNA certification valid in Maryland (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Minimum patient care experience preferred; new graduates with certification are welcome
- Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable performing ADLs and basic bedside care
- Ability to take and accurately document vital signs
- Familiarity with infection control best practices
- Basic charting and documentation skills
- Strong time management and patient-first mindset
- Safe patient handling and body mechanics
