Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care to residents, focusing on dignity and safety
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns to nursing staff
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and resident interactions
- Support infection control practices and contribute to a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the care team to promote resident comfort and well-being
Qualifications
- GNA certification or equivalent nursing assistant certification required
- Current state-required credentials and ability to work in Maryland
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads welcome
- Reliable, compassionate, and a team player with good communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or GED; GNA/CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of resident rights and long-term care best practices
- Skilled in safe transfer and mobility techniques
- Basic vital signs measurement and documentation skills
- Familiarity with infection prevention and control
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills and resident-centered approach
