Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct nursing care to residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions, escalating changes as needed
- Document care clearly and promptly in the resident chart/EHR
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and maintain a safe environment
- Work closely with RNs, CNAs, therapists, and families to coordinate resident care
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies consistently
- Respond calmly and effectively to urgent situations and changes in condition
Qualifications
- Current LPN license in Maryland (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required)
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting preferred
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
- Strong communication skills and a resident-first mindset
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma or certificate (LPN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation
- Basic nursing assessments and vital sign interpretation
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) charting
- Infection control and safe patient handling
- Time management, prioritization, and teamwork
- Empathy and strong interpersonal skills for resident and family interactions
