Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered personal care with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
• Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support residents with mobility and transfers using safe body mechanics
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control procedures
• Accurately document care provided and communicate observations during handoffs
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families to support quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA or CNA certification, or completion of a recognized GNA/CNA program
• Active Maryland certification or ability to obtain state certification
• BLS/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Able to pass background check and drug screening
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Previous experience in long term care or nursing home setting is a plus, new grads welcome

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of GNA or CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic patient care and assistance with ADLs
• Measuring and recording vital signs accurately
• Fundamentals of infection control and hand hygiene
• Basic charting and documentation skills
• Effective, compassionate communication with residents and team members
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Understanding of resident rights and HIPAA privacy principles
